Glebe House
Glebe House, Appleton le Street
This project was a replacement dwelling, following demolition of an existing stone property. The new house sits on a sloping site, It was built in such a way that the front elevation was 3 storey and the rear elevation 2. The construction to the front was traditionally built with sandstone, timber sliding sash windows under a slate roof, but to the rear is a modern black zinc extension with large amounts of glass. The property had underfloor heating powered by air source technology. This project won “highly commended” in the best individual new home category at the 2018 LABC awards.
